Re: BLACK FRIDAY « Result #1 Today at 10:10am »
We don't have black Friday here in Canada. I wish we did. I might be able to get some deals on stuff for the kids. I akmost got run over by a woman in a cart last Saturday in the mall while shopping for our new Christmas tree - not allowed to get a real one 'cuz my landlord won't let me. Plus, our kitten destroyed my old one. She's older now, so hope she had outgrown that.
"Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" actress Kat Dennings has scored a role in Kenneth Branagh's Thor for Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios reports MTV News.
Natalie Portman revealed Dennings casting in an interview this week but couldn't reveal what role Dennings will be playing.
Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Samuel L. Jackson, Stellan Skarsgard, Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano and Idris Elba also star.
Filming kicks off early next year for release May 2011.
In regards to "The Hobbit", [Peter Jackson] and his co-writers have already finished the first film's script and submitted it, and they're now halfway through the second film's script.
He adds that continuity will be kept between 'Hobbit' and his "Lord of the Rings" trilogy with much of the dialogue written in the same way, though director Guillermo del Toro will interpret the look and feel in his own way.
One good bit of news however is that despite all the 3D wizardy and fancy digital camera technology available, "Guillermo wants to shoot in 35mm, old-fashioned film, which suits me, because he wants to keep it in the same space as the original trilogy."
USA Today has posted the first photos from "Shrek Forever After", the fourth film in Dreamworks Animation's most successful franchise.
Two key bits of information popped up in the article. First up despite rumors several years ago, this is not a new trilogy but will be the final film in the series. The other is that the film, which will be shot in 3D, will premiere its first trailer in theatres with "Avatar" on December 18th.
This outing, described as "Brothers Grimm" meets "It's a Wonderful Life", has an over-domesticated Shrek trying to regain his ogre mojo and strikes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn, NOT Paul McCartney as erroneously reported) .
Shrek must confront what life would be like in Far Far Away if he had never existed. That translates into Donkey being forced into cart-pulling duty, fat and lazy Puss in Boots trading his sword for a pink bow and the underhanded Rumpelstiltskin ruling the kingdom.
New characters include Kathy Griffin and Kristin Schaal as ogre hunting witches, and Jon Hamm as the leaser of an underground resistance group.

Re: WALMART: The Good, the Bad & the Ugly « Result #9 Yesterday at 6:29pm »
I worked there once too. All alone in the Christmas section, every night, as soon as i would straighten up a section, someone would go right behind me and destroy it all over again. I must have re-stocked, re-straightened, re-grouped, and re-zoned each isle a million times. And then, because they refuse to hire a sufficient amount of workers, I also had to watch over the TOYS section AND the PET section ast the same time. And the worst part was when they would call ALL associates to the cashier stations because the lines were backing up, because they didn't have enough workers to fill those cashier stations.
I have always wondered why they put around 40-50 cashier stations in a Walmart, they NEVER open more than 6 at a time.
It's not that Walmart CAN'T find enough workers, it's that they WONT! If they can overwork the few GOOD part-time associates then they dont need to hire more, right?
No WONDER I can never find enough help in any section at Walmart when I need it.

You Can't Get Around the Empty Tomb
Bible Reading: Acts 1:1-5
During the forty days after his crucifixion, he appeared to the apostles from time to time and proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive. Acts 1:3
For forty days after his crucifixion, Jesus let his disciples see him. He gave the world living proof that he had actually come back to life. Despite that evidence, some folks still argue that Jesus never really rose from the dead. They think he's still stuck in a grave, as gone as the day he died on the cross.
Suppose you lived back in Bible times and you really despised everything Jesus stood for. You totally hated his teachings. You disliked this wonder-worker from Nazareth so much that you wanted to prove his disciples went to the wrong tomb on Easter morning. You wanted people to think that instead of going to the tomb where Jesus had been buried, his followers went to an empty one.
To disprove the Resurrection, all you would have needed was one necessary piece of evidence. If you knew that Jesus was actually dead and his disciples were just directionally challenged, you would only have needed to pop open the right tomb and point to the dead body. That-of course-didn't happen.
The other excuses people offer for the empty tomb aren't any better.
Some insist that the disciples stole the body of Christ. But a handful of disciples would have been easily chased away by the elite Roman troops guarding the tomb.
Still others believe that Jesus didn't really die on the cross—that he was just unconscious from exhaustion and lack of blood, and he regained consciousness in the cool tomb. But the idea that a whipped, wounded, and weakened Christ could bust loose from a tomb sealed with a two-ton stone—that's laughable.
Those are silly stories.
Here's the real scoop: Three days after Jesus was crucified, his tomb was empty. The followers of Jesus saw him alive from the dead. He appeared to them over a period of forty days, offering them many certain proofs that no one could deny. Paul reported that Jesus even appeared to more than five hundred of his followers at one time, most of whom were still alive when Paul wrote and could back up or boo his report.
Christians believe Jesus was raised from the dead by the supernatural power of God, and Jesus offered solid proof of his bodily resurrection. It might be tough to believe that a man could rise from the dead, but the problems of not believing are even tougher.
TALK: That's the evidence. The verdict? Jesus Christ actually rose from the dead, and he lives today. Are you letting him live in you today?
PRAY: Jesus, we want your resurrection power to fill us up today. Be our Lord and take charge of our life.
ACT: Talk with a non-Christian friend about how it's harder not to believe Jesus rose from the dead than to believe he did

Re: HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! « Result #17 Yesterday at 11:23am »
Happy Thanksgiving to all our wonderful family here at OneWayFilms.net. While we have seen growth in new members and we are thankful for them all, I sure miss some old digital faces around as well.
For so many years the fun, drama and challenges we have all faced together are a part of my life that I am really thankful for. I have made real friendships with many of you personally and thank God for you everyday. I have relationships here that have strengthed my faith, trust and love for God. I have laughed, cried and prayed with so many. You are family.
Through this site (and Cloud Ten's old message board) I have had the chance to minister to the needs of others, help with scripts for movies, become a movie critic writing reviews, see movies before they are ever released, partake in a Hollywood style red carpet world movie premier, meet celebraties, introduce my children to things most children never get to do, meet authors, writers, producers, studio owners, and on and on. What a blessing to be thankful for.
So to all my family here as I prepare to go meet and celebrate Thanksgiving with my in Texas, I ask God to bless everysingle one of you with restored health, financial security, restored families and most importantly His Presence in your lives. God bless you all.

I know our own aliciar works there, perhaps she can give some insider information on what it is like to be on the otherside of the customer service issues as well.
MrsHbm worked there for a few months but got a better job... and I think that is part of the customer service issue. The employees seem to be pass through workers more than career oriented, so they dont have that mentality (not a blanket statement as I have had some good experiences).
I do love the ability to go in and get 99% of everything I need from food to banking., pictures to pants, tools to car care. At the same time, I miss the old mom and pop stores that Walmart has put out of business.

WALMART: The Good, the Bad & the Ugly « Result #21 Yesterday at 8:18am »
There SO much one could say about Walmart. The prices are hard to beat, and you can find almost everything you need under one roof. How could anyone NOTY appreciate the genius behind that?
But then, if you consider the lack of customer service or the QUALITY of customer service at Walmart, then I suppose NOW you have reason to complain.
People seem to have a love/hate relationship with their local Walmart. I've gone into one and found some of the BEST deals on items, while at other times, I've come out of one about to blow a MENTAL FUSE over the lack and quality of service there, or the huge amount of dazed and confused, wander-around aimlessly, slow-poking, people who seem to gather at Walmart for every reason in the world EXCEPT to shop.
let's share some stories, gripes, success, and/or horror stories that can only take place at WALMART.
